We have some great news! Christa was recognized by her company Young’s Market Company at their Best in the West awards on Friday. She received the Community Service award for all of her hard work getting healthy and sharing her story with others. This is a huge honor for her, here she is with her company’s owner/CEO Chris Underwood, EVP/GM John Erickson, and President Rick Gillis:

More good news, Christa no longer has to take the hormone blockers and is well on her way to feeling more like a normal human again. Her recent scans from March 28th have come back all negative for any cancer, and the results for a microscopic circulating tumor cells blood test should be back in a couple of weeks. The hormone blocker shot was very painful and caused some side-effects that she said is worse than chemo. For the first time in her life she had insomnia and ill effects of not being able to sleep for a few weeks, mood swings and pain in her pelvis. That’s all normalizing now as the shot wears off and she is maintaining health with natural therapies for now.

Christa was selected to do a TEDx Honolulu talk! She will be speaking on July 9th at the Blaisdell Concert Hall on Oahu. This is a huge opportunity for her to share her story and she is working hard to not blow it! Her first training with Dale-Carnegie was difficult to say the least, but she is on a mission to get it right.
